Overview
The Toyota Logistic Design competition is a biannual design contest held by Toyota’s material handling division, and they focused on logistics in Africa and other impoverished regions.
Problem
In the developing world, passenger motorcycles are preferred for cargo transport due to low costs and fuel efficiency. This leads to overloading of cargo on vehicles not built to handle loads on infrastructure not built to handle them.
REQUIREMENTS
The solution needs to be capable of handling rough terrain, be environmentally sound, and remain fairly inexpensive.
Ideation
Ring of cleaning supplies attached to water bottle
Cleaning solution bottle attached directly to dispenser case
Sprayer bottle attached to bottle sleeve
Dispenser w/ attached bottle and manual handles
Dispenser w/ soap, cartridge, non-contact button
Temporary cleaning station attached to cupholders on machines with high demand
General concept for machine combining sprayer w/ paper towel dispenser
Cleaning station with options for manual dispensing or automatic dispensing
Modular bottle w/ cleaning solution
