CONTEXT
While a stylish option preferred by 22% of the 4 billion people with corrective lenses, contact lenses and especially their cases require pulling, squeezing, and twisting motions difficult for people with arthritis and similar conditions and inconvenient for people without.
Additionally, only 50% of contact wearers replace their lenses, and fewer than 5% replace their cases on time, if at all. This causes irritation and pain for wearers and may result in dangerous infections like keratitis.
